About the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame & Gift Shop

 

The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame tells stories of more than 150 honorees representing the best of the best in rodeo, ranching, business, agriculture, and entertainment. It is located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards in the historic Exhibits Building.

 

Current Operating Hours:

Mon - Thursday:  10am-5pm

Closed on Wednesday

Friday & Saturday: 10am-7pm

Sunday: 11am-5pm

Job Opening: Museum Sales Associate

Compensation: $10hr / Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame is seeking an energetic and passionate sales associate with a heart for western heritage. This position is part-time, a mix of weekday and weekend days, up to 30 hours a week. After training, the Sales Associate will work independently in the Store to serve customers who are purchasing Museum admissions, merchandise and handle related Museum transactions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned which are necessary for the smooth and continued operations of the company.

 

•  Opens and closes the museum as needed

•  Conducting admissions and Store sales and other cash register transactions

•  Knowledgeable of our honorees

•  Answering questions about the Museum to the visiting public

•  Assist / Lead educational tours of the museum

•  Becoming familiar with Store merchandise and helping Store customers

•  Receiving, labeling and displaying inventory and products in the Store

•  Performing general housekeeping chores, straightening stock on shelves, dusting and cleaning of display cases, etc.

•  Successfully follow and adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines.

•  Perform all other duties or projects as requested or assigned in order to make the company successful

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS / COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to create basic correspondence in Microsoft Word. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL / COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Ability to work independently and manage priorities with strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to work with others, follow direction from management, and follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to type, ten-key, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to a lesser degree, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee should be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is a professional office environment, normally with a moderate noise level.
